China-Sweden Automotive Industry Sustainable Development Forum successfully held at World New Energy Vehicle Conference (WNEVC)

Hainan, September 28, 2024 – The " China-Sweden New Energy Vehicle Development Forum”, a key event of the World New Energy Vehicle Conference, was successfully held at the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center. Co-organized by Business Sweden and the Chinese Society of Automotive Engineering, the forum brought together representatives from government agencies, industry organizations, enterprises, and research institutions from both countries.

The discussions centered on building a China-Sweden exchange platform for zero-carbon emissions, fostering deeper collaboration between governments, businesses, and research institutions, and sharing innovative solutions and best practices for sustainable development in the automotive industry.

The forum was moderated by Gao Zhenhai, Dean of the School of Automotive Engineering at Jilin University. Joakim Abeleen, Trade and Invest Commissioner & Vice President for East Asia and Pacific at Business Sweden, delivered the opening speech, setting the stage for meaningful dialogues.

During the keynote session, distinguished speakers included Mr. Zheng Yali, Vice Secretary General of the China Society of Automotive Engineers; Mr. Andreas Josefsson, Innovation Lead, and Mr. Nikita Zaiko, Project Manager at Lindholmen Science Park AB; Mr. Joakim Diamant, Business Development Director at Scania China Strategic Center; and Ms. Sandra Liu, Vice President of Governmental Affairs at Volvo Cars (Asia Pacific) Investment. They shared insights into policy advancements, innovation trends, and collaboration opportunities shaping the future of sustainable mobility.

An introduction session on innovative automotive technology and industry solutions followed, chaired by Joakim Abeleen. Speakers included Alex Gu, Vice President of Marketing for East and North Asia at Alfa Laval; Johan Hägg, Head of Marketing and Communications at Nira Dynamics AB; Chu Hao, China & NEA Automotive President at SKF; and Seth Ryding, Chief Sales Officer (CSO) for Global Sales and Kelvin Pan, General Manager of China at Telenor IoT. These industry leaders showcased cutting-edge solutions and highlighted best practices driving sustainable transformation in the automotive sector.

Other speakers in the forum include representatives from Geely Auto Group and China Automotive Engineering Research Institute.

Swedish companies Alfa Laval, SKF, Nira Dynamics, and Telenor IoT also participated as exhibitors at the World New Energy Vehicle Conference, demonstrating their innovative technologies and solutions for new energy vehicles.

The forum underscored the importance of China-Sweden collaboration in advancing sustainable development within the automotive industry, providing a platform to strengthen partnerships and explore innovative pathways toward zero-carbon mobility.
