On June 16th, as a part of the Pioneer the possible platform, Sweden-China Conference on Industry Cooperation for Circular Economy was conducted focusing on technological innovation driving high-quality development of circular economy. More than 100+ participants joined the Conference through online and offline channels. The conference was co-organized by Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the Embassy of Sweden in Beijing, and Business Sweden, supported by China Association of Circular Economy.
The conference started with welcome words by Ms. Paola Albornoz, First Secretary, Responsible Business (CSR), Embassy of Sweden in Beijing, followed by the latest policy update and interpretation by Mr. Zhao Kai, Executive Vice President, China Association of Circular Economy.
In the Conference Swedish expert speakers presented how they are working with circular economy. Mr. Benny Li from Alfa Laval presented how Alfa Laval solutions can facilitate the construction of waste-free industrial parks. Ms. Miao Huang and Mr. Henrik Nordell introduced Volvo Cars experiences and ambition in circularity. Ms. Åsa Östlund introduced wood-based fiber technology developed by TreeToTextile, and Ms. Jiawei Xu of H&M presented road to circularity in the garment industry.
During the roundtable session, Mr. Frank Mao of Envac China, Ms. Michelle Marrone of Munters, and Ms. Julia Asplund of Scania shared their innovative solutions and best practice in areas of intelligent solid waste management, product design with circularity, and energy solution contributing to zero-emission factory.
At the Conference, Chinese expert speakers from research institutions and industry shared their insights and experiences on the challenges and opportunities in China's circular economy.
Ms. Amanda Alkemark of Business Sweden concluded the conference by stating that the conference has been informative and inspiring, and that Pioneer the possible initiative in China is looking forward to further collaboration with Chinese stakeholders in areas contributing to a sustainable world.
