As part of Pioneer the possible, a conference focusing on low carbon sustainable development was held in Rugao city, Jiangsu province on March 23, 2023. The primary objective of the conference was to showcase innovative technologies and business concepts that promote the creation of efficient energy systems utilizing renewable energy resources. The event also aimed to strengthen Sweden's position as a leading nation in green and sustainable development.

Leading the Swedish delegation were Ms. Helena Sångeland, Ambassador of Sweden to China, and Jan Larsson, CEO of Business Sweden. The delegation visited a biogas pilot project supported by IVL and the under-construction Scania production site in Rugao in addition to the conference. The Scania factory will be a zero-emission facility that uses local green electricity as well as locally produced biogas.

During the visit, the Swedish delegation received a warm welcome from high-level officials of the Nantong and Rugao governments.
