November 6, 2025, Shanghai: The Swedish Country Pavilion at the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) was grandly inaugurated. The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Peter Kullgren, Swedish Minister for Rural Affairs; Mr. Ling Ji, Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce, Mr. Per Augustsson, Ambassador of Sweden to China, Ms. Annika Hahn-Englund, Consul-General, Consulate General of Sweden in Shanghai and Mr. Jan Larsson, CEO of Business Sweden.
2025 marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Sweden. As one of the Guest Countries of Honor at this year’s Expo, Sweden showcased its Country Pavilion under the theme “Let us Pioneer the Possible”, highlighting the country’s strengths in innovation, research, sustainable development, and collaborative partnerships.
The pavilion brought together 19 Swedish companies across sectors including industrial manufacturing, automotive technology, healthcare, food and agriculture, and consumer goods etc. During the opening ceremony, several strategic cooperation agreements were signed between Swedish and Chinese companies. Notably, SKF China entered agreements with three partners, including COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry, emphasizing green and smart technologies.
“Pioneer the possible” companies participated as partners in the Swedish Country Pavilion. On November 7, 2025, the “Pioneer the Possible” forum was held at the pavilion, focusing on green transformation.
