In late February, alumni of the Swedish Institute Management Programme (SIMP) from China gathered for an alumni reception and networking event held at the residence of the Embassy of Sweden in Beijing. Business Sweden presented the efforts supporting Swedish companies in sustainability related matters in Pioneer the possible.

SIMP is a management programme designed for sustainable business professionals, offering valuable tools and knowledge from experts in sustainable business practices. The programme is built upon Sweden's prominent role in innovation, sustainable business, and its integration into the global economy. Chinese sustainable business professionals have actively engaged in the programme for the past 15 years, with approximately 200 participants representing diverse industries. These individuals now constitute the SIMP China Alumni Network.

At the reception, H.E. Per Augustsson, the Swedish Ambassador to China, presented diplomas to the five Chinese graduates of the SIMP class of 2023 and the alumni had the opportunity to express their reflections on the SIMP programme and highlight their notable accomplishments. We extend a warm welcome to the SIMP Class of 2023 as they join the esteemed SIMP alumni network.

The reception served as a valuable platform for the SIMP alumni network to engage in meaningful discussions and share their perspectives and experiences with the Embassy of Sweden and Business Sweden. The focus of these exchanges was on fostering sustainable business development in China, allowing for fruitful collaborations and knowledge sharing in this important area.

At the reception, Business Sweden and Scania showcased their sustainability initiatives through Pioneer the possible, a platform supporting Swedish companies to reach their carbon neutrality goals and promoting Swedish sustainable solutions to the Chinese market.

We anticipate further collaboration with the SIMP alumni network in our shared commitment to promoting sustainable business practices and expediting the transition towards a greener future. By working together, we can drive sustainable development and foster the adoption of environmentally-friendly solutions.
