Virtual roadshow to Hainan to work together towards green mobility and fossil free transports

On May 25th, a virtual roadshow to Hainan was organized by Business Sweden in China as part of the Pioneer the possible platform with a focus on green mobility. Hainan is the first province in China to announce a goal of phasing out new sales of gasoline and diesel vehicles by 2030. This coincides with the Swedish government’s ambition, that also has proposed a ban on the sale of new fossil fuel cars from 2030.

During the event Mr. Xu Tao, Director, Auto Division, Hainan Provincial Industry and Information Department, introduced Hainan's Clean Energy Vehicle Development roadmap and initiatives and how to build a "clean power island" where green power will account for 80 % of the total energy consumption by 2030.

Martin Jönsson from Business Sweden presented how pioneering fossil free transports with representatives from Afry, PowerCell, Scania and SKF introducing their vision and solutions ranging from system planning, vehicle life cycle emission reduction, technology innovation and transformation to hydrogen energy application within the transport sector. An important first milestone towards a greener future and deeper collaboration!
